# Creating Website Content Personalization Creatives

Website content personalization updates content spots on registered pages with creative assets tailored to selected audiences. Use this page to create the banners, images, text, and CTA buttons for Step 3 of a Personalization Studio campaign. For campaign setup and launch, see [Creating Personalization Campaigns](/products/marketing-cloud/personalization-studio/creating-campaigns). Pop-ups (in-browser messaging) use a separate workflow; see [Creating Pop-up Messages](/products/marketing-cloud/personalization-studio/creating-popup-messages).

## Before You Begin

- Complete Steps 1 and 2 in [Creating Personalization Campaigns](/products/marketing-cloud/personalization-studio/creating-campaigns), including campaign details, the trigger event, and audiences.
- Register a website page with at least one [content spot](/products/marketing-cloud/personalization-studio/managing-pages).

## Step 3: Create a Website Content Creative

In the campaign wizard, create a creative asset for each content spot and audience pair.

Content step showing audience selection, page selection, and an option to add content spots
1. Open **Creative Assets** in Step 3 of the campaign wizard.
2. Select an audience and registered page.
3. Select or add the content spot to personalize.
4. Create a creative asset for that content spot and audience pair.

### Supported Content Types

| **Content Type** | **Description** | **Example** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Static Image** | Provide an external image URL. Images are referenced by URL, not uploaded directly. | Hero banner background image |
| **Static Text** | Plain text with formatting options such as color, font, and alignment. | "Welcome to our Spring Sale" |
| **CTA Button** | Configure the button text, link URL, position, and size. | "Shop Now" linking to `/sale` |

### Use the Creative Asset Editor

The content editor lets you:

- Position images, text, and buttons within a content spot.
- Format text with color, font, and alignment options.
- Add images using an external URL.
- Add and configure CTA buttons, including their text, link, position, and size.

### Set Default or Fallback Content

For each content spot, choose what visitors outside the target audience see:

- **Use existing website content** — leave the content spot unchanged. This is the default.
- **Replace with static content** — show a static image, text, and/or CTA to visitors who do not match a target audience.

### Example: Homepage Hero Banner

| **Audience** | **Image** | **Text** | **CTA** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Fallback | spring-sale-generic.jpg | "Spring Sale: 20% Off Everything" | Shop Now → /sale |
| New Visitors | spring-welcome.jpg | "Welcome — 20% Off Your First Order" | Start Shopping → /sale?new=true |
| Loyalty Members | spring-vip.jpg | "VIP Early Access: Shop First" | Shop Exclusives → /sale/vip |

## How Website Content Is Delivered

When a website content personalization campaign is active:

1. A visitor loads a website page.
2. The **Web SDK** sends the event to the Personalization endpoint, which checks audience membership.
3. The endpoint returns the creative asset for the matching audience.
4. The SDK replaces the content spot's DOM element with the personalized content.
