# One-off Campaign Performance Dashboard

A one-off campaign sends an email once to a group of recipients. In Engage Studio, it can be a [List campaign](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/list-campaigns) that uses a contact list from a CSV file, or a [one-off email campaign](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/channels/email/bulk-delivery) that uses a segment from Audience Studio. The Performance tab of the campaign shows how many emails were delivered and how recipients responded, so you can review a send without a separate BI tool or a SQL query. This page explains which events each figure counts and who can read the data.

## Open the Performance Tab

Open the Performance tab after the campaign has started sending.

1. In the **One-Off Campaigns** list, select the campaign name.
2. Select the **Performance** tab. The **Campaign Performance** section shows the send date, the number of sends, and the audience name.

## Where the Figures Come From

The dashboard counts rows in the email delivery events table. Each sending domain has its own table: the `events` table in the `delivery_email_<domain>` database, where the domain is the email domain of the campaign's sender. Dots (`.`) and hyphens (`-`) in the domain become underscores, so `example.com` is stored in `delivery_email_example_com`. For the table's columns, see [Email Delivery Events Table](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/channels/email/email-delivery-events-table).

The dashboard counts only the rows that match all of these conditions.

| Condition | What the dashboard counts |
| --- | --- |
| Campaign | Rows with this campaign's ID. Other campaigns that send from the same domain are not included. |
| Test sends | Rows from test sends (SendTest) are excluded. |

## Read the Performance Metrics

The Performance tab shows each metric as a count. Delivered, Unique opens, Unique clicks, and Bounce also show a percentage. Complaints shows a count only. The number of sends appears in the header, and it is the base for most percentages.

| Metric | What it counts | Percentage of |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Delivered | Messages with a Delivery event | Sent |
| Unique opens | Messages with at least one Open event that is not marked `Likely` as automated | Delivered |
| Unique clicks | Messages with at least one Click event that is not marked `Likely` as automated | Delivered |
| Bounce | Messages with a Bounce event | Sent |
| Complaints | Messages with a Complaint event (spam reports) | No percentage shown |

Each metric counts a message once, no matter how many times the event occurs. For example, a message that is opened three times adds 1 to Unique opens.

An Open event is recorded only when the open pixel in an HTML email loads. Text-only email clients do not provide this metric, so Unique opens can be lower than the number of people who read the email.

Each percentage divides the count by the value in the **Percentage of** column. For example, if 100 messages are sent and 95 are delivered, Delivered shows 95.00% of Sent. If 38 of those 95 delivered messages are opened, Unique opens shows 40.00% of Delivered.

## Bot Opens and Clicks

The dashboard leaves out automated opens and clicks from Unique opens and Unique clicks. Engage Studio marks each Open and Click event with an `is_bot_event` value of `Likely` (likely automated) or `Unlikely` (likely a person). The dashboard excludes events marked `Likely`, and it counts events marked `Unlikely` and events with no value.

The dashboard applies this exclusion automatically to every one-off campaign report. There is no option to include these events in the figures. Delivered, Bounce, and Complaints are not affected. The events table keeps every event, including those marked `Likely`. For how the value is set and how to query it, see [Email Delivery Events Table](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/channels/email/email-delivery-events-table).

## Audience and Data Sources

The audience is the recipient group that you choose when you create the campaign. The dashboard counts the messages that the campaign recorded, not the people in the audience.

- **List campaign:** The audience is a contact list, which is a table that you created from a CSV file. The send reads the table when it starts, so overwriting the table before the send changes the recipients.
- **One-off email campaign:** The audience is the segment that you select in Audience Studio.

Because Sent counts only the messages with a Send event, it can be lower than the size of the audience.

## Update the Figures

The Performance tab shows when the figures were last updated. A result is reused for 5 minutes after it is generated. Select **Refresh** to read the events table again and get the latest counts.

## Permissions to View the Figures

The figures are read with the workspace owner's account, not the account of the person who opens the page. The owner needs an API key and query permission on the `delivery_email_<domain>` database for the campaign's sending domain. If the owner does not have this permission, the report shows an error. Ask the workspace owner to check the owner settings and database query permissions.
