# Configure Custom Subdomains

Private Beta
Landing Page Delivery is currently available as a private beta. Contact your Treasure AI account representative for access.

A Landing Page custom subdomain is the branded web address where Engage Studio serves your published static pages. Configuring a subdomain lets visitors use a URL that your organization controls and gives Engage Studio the DNS information required to provision HTTPS. Configure the subdomain before a marketer publishes a landing page.

## Prerequisites

Before registering a custom subdomain, make sure that you have:

- Access to your organization’s DNS provider.
- A domain that your organization owns, and a subdomain name that you plan to use for landing pages, such as `promo.example.com`.
- Access to manage web domains through **EngageDomain** under **Domain Permissions**. See [Permissions](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/landing-pages/specifications-and-troubleshooting#permissions).

Landing Page Delivery accepts ASCII subdomains only. It does not accept an apex domain such as `example.com` or a wildcard such as `*.example.com`.

## Register and Activate a Custom Subdomain

Custom subdomains are configured in the web domain settings in Engage Studio. Use the DNS values that Engage Studio generates for the domain; do not substitute a value from another domain or environment.

1. In the Engage Studio web domain settings, register the custom subdomain that you want to use for landing pages.

1. Copy the generated DNS records: a TXT record that verifies domain ownership and a CNAME record that routes public traffic.
2. Add both DNS records to your organization’s DNS provider. The records must resolve publicly.

1. Return to the web domain details in Engage Studio and wait for automatic verification and certificate provisioning. The domain initially displays **Pending**.
2. Confirm that the domain status changes to **Active**. An Active domain is ready to serve published pages over HTTPS.

Before creating a landing page, confirm that the Active custom subdomain is available to the target workspace. Marketers can select only domains available to their workspace. Review [Landing Page permissions](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/permissions) with the administrator who manages workspace and domain access.

## Understand Subdomain Status

A Landing Page custom subdomain has a deployment status that indicates whether it can serve published content.

| **Status** | **Meaning** |
| --- | --- |
| **Pending** | Engage Studio is waiting for TXT ownership verification and HTTPS certificate provisioning. A Pending domain cannot publish a landing page. |
| **Active** | Ownership verification and certificate provisioning are complete. An Active domain can serve published landing pages over HTTPS. |
| **Suspended** | Verification or certificate provisioning did not complete before the deployment deadline. Restart deployment from the web domain settings after confirming the DNS records. |

Verification must complete within 14 days of registration. Restarting deployment does not extend this deadline. If the deadline has passed, contact Support for assistance.

## Manage a Custom Subdomain

A custom subdomain can have a display name and description that help your team identify its purpose. Updating this metadata does not trigger DNS verification again and does not affect pages already associated with the subdomain.

If a domain is **Suspended**, first compare the public TXT and CNAME records with the values shown in Engage Studio. After correcting the records, start deployment again and wait until the status returns to **Active**.

Delete only unused domains
You cannot delete a custom subdomain while it is assigned to a workspace or referenced by any landing page, including a draft. Remove those associations first. Deleting an unused domain also stops public delivery for that domain. After deleting the custom subdomain, remove its corresponding TXT and CNAME records from your DNS provider.

## Limits and Next Steps

Each Treasure AI account can register up to 100 Landing Page custom subdomains. For the full domain and package limits, see [Landing Page specifications](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/landing-pages/specifications-and-troubleshooting).

After the domain is **Active**, [prepare a static website package](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/landing-pages/prepare-a-static-website-package) or [create and publish a landing page](/products/marketing-cloud/engage-studio/landing-pages/creating-and-publishing).
