# Changing a Dashboard Widget Type

You can change the type of the widget. For example, you might want to change a line chart to a pie chart. When you change the type, all relevant values and definitions transfer to the new widget type.

1. Open a dashboard or [create a new one](/products/customer-data-platform/treasure-insights/creating-a-new-dashboard).
2. Identify a widget and select the pencil icon to edit it.
3. In the left panel, select a widget type.
