# tdx skill

Install the tdx Skills that ship with `tdx` for Claude Code, Codex, and Pi, in this project, in your user folders, or in any folder you choose.

The skills come from the `tdx` you have installed, so they always match its commands. Nothing is downloaded.

## Commands

| Command | What it does |
|  --- | --- |
| `tdx skill list` | List the bundled skills and their descriptions |
| `tdx skill list --installed` | List what tdx installed in this project |
| `tdx skill install --agent <agents...>` | Install skills for Claude Code, Codex, or Pi |
| `tdx skill install --dir <path>` | Copy skills into an exact folder |
| `tdx skill remove --agent <agents...> --skill <names...> --yes` | Remove skills that tdx installed |

Agents are `claude-code` (or `claude`), `codex`, and `pi`.

## Scope

| Option | Where skills go |
|  --- | --- |
| *(default)* | This project: `.agents/skills`, plus `.claude/skills` for Claude Code |
| `--global` | Your user folders: `~/.agents/skills`, plus Claude Code's skills folder (`$CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR/skills`, or `~/.claude/skills`) |
| `--dir <path>` | Standalone copies in the folder you name, for example to commit to a repository |

Codex and Pi read the same `.agents/skills` folder, so a skill installed for either one is visible to both. Claude Code gets a link to that copy, so the skill is stored once. Use `--copy` to give Claude Code its own copy instead.

## Examples

```bash
# All bundled skills for Claude Code, Codex, and Pi, in this project
tdx skill install --agent claude-code codex pi
# Two skills for your user account
tdx skill install --global --agent claude-code --skill segment journey
# Copies to commit to a repository
tdx skill install --dir ./.claude/skills
# Preview a removal, then remove
tdx skill remove --global --agent claude-code --skill segment --dry-run
tdx skill remove --global --agent claude-code --skill segment --yes
```

## Safety

- tdx only changes skills it installed. A folder you created with the same name is kept, and the command reports it as skipped.
- A skill you edited after tdx installed it is kept, not overwritten or removed.
- Re-running `install` updates the skills tdx manages to the version of the running `tdx`, and changes nothing else.
- `remove` needs `--yes` unless you use `--dry-run`.
- A shared skill is kept while Claude Code still links to it.

## Launchers

`tdx claude`, `tdx codex`, and `tdx pi` install the global set on each launch, so the skills follow your `tdx` version. `tdx claude` installs into Claude Code's skills folder, so plain `claude` sessions see the same skills. `tdx codex` and `tdx pi` install into `~/.agents/skills`.

Removing skills does not stop a launcher from installing them again the next time it starts.

## Output

Pass `--json` for machine-readable output. Each change reports its status (`installed`, `updated`, `unchanged`, or `removed`) and its path.
